Former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher A.J. Burnett will throw out the first pitch at the Pirates home opener on Friday, April 7th. Burnett will throw to his former battery-mate Russell Martin in the ceremonial pitch. The team will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2013 team which snapped a 20-year losing streak and made the post-season. The Bucs host the Chicago White Sox for the opener.
The Pirates defeated the Baltimore Orioles 7-4 Tuesday to pick up their first win of the preseason. They visit Detroit today in Lakeland, Florida.
