The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-5 Sunday to take two of three games in their weekend series. For the second straight start since his All-Star appearance, Mitch Keller was hit hard, allowing six runs on nine hits over his five innings of work. Keller allowed three home runs in a game for the first time in his career. He has given up 11 runs in 14 innings in his two second-half starts. Bryan Reynolds and Carlos Santana led the Bucs with two hits each. Reynolds hit his 10th home run of the season.
The Pirates moved down the California coast to face the San Diego Padres tonight. Game time is 9:40pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 9:15pm. Quinn Priester will make his second major league start tonight. Yu Darvish will start for the Padres.
The Pirates won 3-0 Saturday after falling 8-5 Friday. In the Friday game, rookie Henry Davis became the first player to hit two home runs in a single game off Angels star Shohei Ohtani.
