The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-1 to complete their three-game series Wednesday. The Pirates bullpen allowed eight walks over four innings in relief of starter Zach Thompson, who did not allow a run on three hits over four innings. He left the game with the Pirates leading 1-0. Ben Gamel hit his seventh home run of the year for the Bucs lone run.
The Pirates are off today, then open a nine-game home stand at PNC Park Friday night with the first three games against the Toronto Blue Jays.
