The Pittsburgh Pirates lost 10-9 to the Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday. Starting pitcher Mitch Keller allowed eight runs on 10 hits in the game, including three home runs in just two innings of work. Keller has now allowed 12 earned runs and 15 hits over five innings this spring.
The Bucs had 17 hits in the loss, with four players gathering two hits each. Colin Moran and Bryan Reynolds hit home runs. The Pirates host the Baltimore Orioles for a night game tonight in Bradenton. First pitch is 6:05pm.
Former Pirate pitcher Tyler Glasnow started for Tampa Bay and allowed four runs on six hits over his four innings. Another former Pirate – left fielder Austin Meadows had two hits, including his fourth home run of the spring.
