The Philadelphia Phillies shutout the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-0 last night. Phillies left-handed starter Cristopher Sanchez tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out nine. He improved to 10-3 with a 2.00 ERA. Bubba Chandler started for the Bucs. He allowed five runs while pitching into the seventh inning and struck out six. His 6-1/3rd innings was a career high.
Bryan Reynolds did not reach base for the first time in 35 games last night.
The Bucs and Phils play again tonight at 6:40pm. WISR pre-game begins at 6:15pm.
Paul Skenes will start for the Pirates. Zach Wheeler will start for the Phils. The Pirates have not won over the last eight starts from Skenes.
