The Pittsburgh Pirates lost their fifth game in a row last night – falling to the Chicago Cubs 5-0. The Pirates managed just four hits in the game, all singles. Rookie Ke’Bryan Hayes had two of the hits. He is batting .323 during his late-season debut.
Pirates starting pitcher JT Brubaker allowed two runs on four hits while pitching into the seventh inning. He struck out nine. In the past three games, Pirates starters have allowed seven hits, just two runs over 19 innings and had 26 strikeouts – and the Bucs have lost all three games.
The Bucs and Cubs play again tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game from PNC Park on WISR 680am is 6:40pm.
