The Cleveland Indians defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-3 in 10-innings last night at PNC Park. The Indians victory aided by a couple of questionable calls – including an inconclusive review of a Carlos Santana three-run home run which decided the game. The loss drops the Bucs to 4-15 this season.
The Bucs and Indians play again tonight at 7:05pm. WISR pre-game is 6:40pm.
The Pirates have lost another reliever for the season, with Michael Feliz being put on the 45-day IL.
The Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals are set to play a doubleheader today after their game last night was postponed so that the Reds could do more coronavirus testing after a player tested positive over the weekend. After the positive test, the last two games of the Reds series with the Pirates had to be postponed.
Minnesota Twins pitcher Kenta Maeda came within three outs of a no-hitter against the Milwaukee Brewers last night, giving up a single to start the ninth inning to Eric Sogard. Maeda threw a Twins record eight consecutive strikeouts and a total of 12 during the attempt. He was taken out of the game after giving up the hit and the Twins blew a 3-0 lead, but came back to win in the 12th inning 4-3.
