The Pittsburgh Pirates were swept in their three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers following a 3-2 loss Thursday afternoon. Former Pirate Andrew McCutchen did the majority of the damage against his former team. Cutch hit the very first pitch thrown by Pirate starter Jose Quintana. Quintana went on to strike out the side, and struck out nine in his five innings of work. Reliever Chris Stratton blew a save and a 2-1 lead in the ninth when he allowed a two-run single to McCutchen in the top of the inning.
The Pirates open a three-game series with the San Diego Padres tonight at 6:35pm.
