The Pittsburgh Pirates were swept by the New York Mets following a 7-3 loss Sunday. The Pirates struck out 20 times in the game, setting a franchise record and matching a major league record. Oneil Cruz produced all three Pirate runs with a home run in the sixth inning. The Pirates are off today, and visit the New York Yankees Tuesday. They are now 55-92 this season after the four-game sweep by the Mets.
The Pirates could be a part of baseball history in their next two games in New York. Yankees slugger Aaron Judge hit his 58th and 59th home runs of the year and moved to within two of the Roger Maris American League record of 61.
