The Atlanta Braves completed a three-game series sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates following a 3-2 victory Sunday. The Braves scored three runs in the seventh inning to erase a Pirates 2-0 lead in the game. Spencer Horwitz had given the Bucs an early 1-0 lead with a home run in the first inning. It was his eighth of the season.
Bubba Chandler loaded the bases in the seventh inning and Evan Sisk allowed a bases-clearing double to Atlanta’s Michael Harris II. Chandler fell to 2-7 this season.
The Braves won a pair of games by final scores of 6-3 Friday and Saturday. It was the third time this season the Pirates were swept. They have now fallen 7-1/2 games behind Milwaukee in the N.L. Central. They are now a half-game out of a Wild Card spot.
The Pirates are off today, then begin a six-game home-stand Tuesday with the first of three games with the two-time defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
