The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 Wednesday afternoon and won their first series against the Dodgers since 2016.
Daniel Vogelbach hit his fifth home run of the season in the Pirates seventh inning to give the Bucs the lead after the Dodgers had tied the game 3-3. David Bednar pitched two perfect innings to earn the victory. Josh VanMeter and Jack Suwinski also hit home runs for the Pirates, who had built a 3-0 lead through six innings, before Los Angeles tied the game.
The Bucs open a four-game series with the Cincinnati Reds tonight. First pitch is 6:35pm. WISR pre-game is 6:10pm.
