Last year’s top overall draft pick, Paul Skenes, pitched two innings, allowing a lead-off home run in the fourth inning, but went on to allow just that run and struck out three. Luis Ortiz started the game. He allowed one run on one hit over three innings, striking out three.
Henry Davis is batting .400 so far in training camp and infielder Jared Triolo had two hits yesterday and is batting .353 in exhibition play. The Pirates host Toronto in Bradenton today.
