The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 in 10-innings. Starting pitcher Bryse Wilson pitched eight shutout innings, but was pulled for the ninth inning with the Bucs leading 3-0. The Reds then tied the game by scoring three run via two home runs and forcing the extra frames. Kevin Newman singled in the winning run in the tenth.
The Pirates are off today, then play their final six games of the season with St. Louis. The will play three games in St. Louis beginning tomorrow night, then host the Cards for three games beginning Monday.
Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees hit his 61st home run of the season Wednesday, tying the Roger Maris 1961 American League record. Maris broke Babe Ruth’s record that season. Barry Bonds holds the all-time major league mark with 73.
