The Pirates were active prior to the MLB trade deadline yesterday, making four trades:
–They acquired outfielder Bryan De La Cruz from Miami for two minor league prospects.
–General Manager Ben Cherington also acquired utility player Isaiah Kiner-Falefa from Toronto for another prospect.
–The Bucs shipped starting pitcher Martin Perez to San Diego in exchange for another young pitching prospect.
The Pirate moves were part of 30 total trades made prior to the deadline last night.
