The Pittsburgh Pirates won their sixth straight game on Saturday night as they defeated the visiting Cincinnati Reds, the final 2-1.
Ke’Bryan Hayes, Bryan Reynolds, and Tucupita Marcano each collected two hits for the Bucs on Saturday. Starting pitcher Rich Hill pitched five innings for the Buccos and allowed six hits and one run while striking out seven.

Officials also announced on Saturday that the team extended Derek Shelton’s contract, which was originally set to expire at the end of the 2023. Terms of the extension were not released. Shelton enters his fourth season managing the club.
