The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-2 – thanks to a walk-off solo home run by catcher Jacob Stallings in the ninth inning. Pirates starting pitcher Steven Brault did not allow a run in seven innings of work. Going back to his last start – Brault had a hitless streak of 10 innings. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak.
The Bucs and Cubs play again tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR is 6:40pm. Trevor Williams will start for the Pirates. He is 1-8 with a 6.70 ERA this season.
The Pirates are 16-39 overall with five games remaining in their season.

Pirates prospect Oneil Cruz is facing charges in his native Dominican Republic after an automobile crash that killed three people. The crash occurred early Monday morning – and the 21-year old Cruz was arrested at the scene. Police believe alcohol was involved.
