The Pittsburgh Pirates host the Minnesota Twins today in Bradenton for their final pre-season game. Game time is 1pm. The Bucs open the regular season in Cincinnati Thursday afternoon. Johan Oviedo will start for the Pirates.
The Bucs fell 8-4 to the Twins Monday in Fort Myers. Veteran starting pitcher Rich Hill allowed seven earned runs on 11 hits in his 4-2/3rds innings of work. He ends the spring with a 9.24 ERA in just over 12 innings of work.
The Pirates will head north with another starting pitcher, JT Brubaker on the 15-day Injured list after he developed forearm soreness. Oviedo will likely take his place in the rotation to begin the season. Mitch Keller will be the Pirates opening day starter Thursday.
