The Pitt football team will face Michigan State tonight in the Peach Bowl. The Panthers enter the game 11-2 overall and are seeking their 12th victory in a season for the first time in 45 years. The last time a Pitt team won that many games was 1976, when they won the national championship under the direction of head coach Johnny Majors. That Panthers team defeated Georgia 27-3 in the Sugar Bowl to go 12-0.
The Panthers will start Brian Pattie at quarterback. Michigan State enter the game 10-2 overall and are ranked #11. Pitt is ranked #13.
Kick-off in Atlanta is 7pm and the game will be televised on ESPN.
