The Pitt men’s basketball team defeated Louisville 75-54 last night. The Panthers received 23 points from bench players during the game. Pitt fell behind 14-10 early in the game, but went on a 13-0 run to take a lead they did not relinquish. Pitt improved to 13-6 overall, and are tied for second place in the Atlantic Coast Conference at 6-2. The Panthers will host Florida State Saturday afternoon.
The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 76-63 victory over Edinboro. The Rock improved to 12-4 overall and 6-4 in the PSAC. It was their 13th consecutive victory at SRU’s Morrow Field House, dating back to last season.
The Rock women fell 67-63 to Edinboro. They are now 9-7 overall and 4-6 in the PSAC. Wednesday’s game served as Slippery Rock’s “Bobby McGraw Celebration” night. McGraw, who was the head coach of the women’s basketball team at SRU for eight years, passed away unexpectedly in July. In recognition of what he meant to the SRU community, Slippery Rock presented members of McGraw’s family with a formal letter announcing the creation of the Bobby McGraw Memorial Scholarship at halftime.
