The Pitt men’s basketball team defeated Boston College 74-72 last night at the Petersen Events Center, earning their first back-to-back victories in the Atlantic Coast Conference since February of 2017. The Panthers hit the game-winner with four seconds remaining in the game. Pitt improved to 13-6 overall and 4-4 in the ACC.
Duquesne’s perfect run in the Atlantic 10 is over after the Dukes were shutdown 77-55 on the road to Rhode Island last night. The Dukes led at halftime 38-30, but managed only 17 points in the second half. They fell to 13-5 overall, and 5-1 in the ACC.
Penn State defeated Michigan 72-63 last night in Big Ten play. The Nittany Lions improved to 14-5 overall, and are 4-4 in the Big Ten. Michigan fell to 11-7 overall and 2-5 in the Big Ten.
The Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team defeated Millersville 69-64 on the road last night. Brooke Hinderliter (Redbank Valley) scored 30 points to lead The Rock. Karns City grad LeeAnn Gibson recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Gibson is fourth in the PSAC in rebounding this season.
