Pitt fell to Stanford in the 2018 Sun Bowl on Monday, losing by a final of 14-13.
The Panthers took a 10-0 lead into halftime, and held a 13-0 lead after three quarters, but gave up 14 unanswered points in the fourth. Pitt running back Qadree Ollison, a fifth year senior, left the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury. He finishes his career one yard shy of sixth place on the school’s rushing list.
Darrin Hall ran for 123 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers, who finish the season with an overall record of 7-7.
Penn State will return to action on Tuesday (January 1st) as they take on Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl. Red-shirt senior quarterback Trace McSorely is expected to play for the Nittany Lions, who enter the contest with an overall record of 9-3.
