The Pitt women’s volleyball team survived a scare Thursday afternoon to defeat Oregon 3-2 and reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. The Panthers won the opening set 25-19, before losing two of the next three sets. Scores were 24-26, 25-16 and 21-25, but Pitt won the deciding set 15-12 to win the match and move on. #1-ranked Pitt improved to 29-1 this season and face Kentucky Saturday at the Petersen Events Center. The match begins at 5pm. The winner moves on to the Final Four in Louisville.
