A local lawmaker is continuing his fight against efforts by the administration of Governor Tom Wolf to enter into an agreement that would limit carbon dioxide emissions.
Republican State Senator Joe Pittman expressed disappointment with a recent ruling by the state Department of Environmental Protection’s Environmental Quality Board concerning joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
Pittman believes that this decision ignores the serious concerns expressed by local communities as well as several factors raised by an Independent Regulatory Review Commission.
Even after what he calls a “setback”, Pittman remains optimistic that the governor’s “onerous and regressive carbon tax” will never actually become a reality in Pennsylvania.
