Pitt wide receiver Jordan Addison won the Biletnikoff Award, given to the top receiver in the country. Addison became Pitt’s third winner of that award, joining Larry Fitzgerald in 2003 and Antonio Brown in 2000.
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was named the Associated Press college football player of the year last night. He also was named the winner of the Maxwell and Davey O’Brien awards, given to the nation’s top quarterback. Young is the favorite to win this year’s Heisman Trophy which will be presented in New York City Saturday night. Pitt’s Kenny Pickett is also a finalist along with Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, who was the runner-up in the A.P. voting behind Young.
