The Butler Township Planning Commission has recommended approval of a plan to improve a vacant property in order to house a few Butler County services.
Butler County is preparing to renovate three and a half acres on North Duffy Road, formerly Butler Health and Fitness Club, to house the Area Agency on Aging, Senior Center, and Veterans Affairs. These services are currently located on the Sunnyview property.
Land development improvements planned for the property include a completely restored parking lot, replacement of stormwater piping, removing trees, improving outdoor lighting, new utility hookups, replacement of steps and a ramp, and the addition of an emergency generator.
Butler Township commissioners will vote about giving final approval to this plan at their meeting later this month. Construction is expected to begin in the spring.
