The Butler Township Planning Commission will again delay their decision about making a recommendation concerning a housing development planned for the Highfield area.
After hearing from a representative for the developer of the 39 acre Highfield Trails plan on South Duffy and Highfield Roads for a second time, the commission tabled a decision until the March meeting.
Since first introduced in December, the developer has reduced the proposed number of single family units of about a quarter acre each planned for the project from 113 to 100. The development would also have about 13 acres of open space among the houses. Several residents again attended the meeting to express concern about the plan.
The Highfield Community Center will remain as currently situated. It is not part of the development and discussions are ongoing about allowances for parking. War monuments on the affected property will be respectfully moved to a location near the Community Center.
