The city of Pittsburgh will lose another newspaper in a few months.
A couple of days after announcing that the Pittsburgh City Paper would be shutting down, Block Communications announced that the Pittsburgh Post Gazette will also cease operations.
Officials with Block say the paper has lost $350 million over 20 years of operations and recent court decisions would hold the company to a 2014 labor contract Block calls “outdated and inflexible”.
The final edition of the Post Gazette will be published May 3rd.
