Some members who were involved in the “Hands Off” protest over the weekend are expressing concern for their safety.
At yesterday’s Butler County Commissioner meeting, a Center Township resident spoke about the threats members of the protest have been receiving over social media.
“We’re not immune to the rhetoric. We live in a red community and we know that,” the resident said. “But what is new is the frequency, intensity, and brazenness of it.”
Over 100 people gathered on Evans City Road Saturday to protest policies of the Trump Administration.
Members of the protest say they also fear retaliation for speaking out.
