With temperatures expected to be near 90 degrees this weekend, officials with the Pennsylvania Utility Commission are offering tips to conserve some energy.
“Circulate with fans around the house. Follow the shade, and relax in the rooms that aren’t receiving direct sunlight,” PUC spokesperson Dan Hixson said. “Block the heat with the blinds and coverings. And don’t add extra heat by cooking indoors. Outdoor cooking is always a good way to keep the temperature a little lower in the kitchen and around the home.”
Central Electric Cooperative meanwhile is issuing another peak alert day. They’re asking customers to conserve energy by turning off non-essential electric items and raising your thermostat a few degrees during the peak hours of 1 to 7 p.m.
