A running event this weekend will honor the legacy of an Evans City resident while raising funds for a community library.
“Lace Up for the Library” takes place this Sunday in Evans City. The event benefits the Evans City Library and is organized by the Patti J. Nelson Foundation.
Patti’s daughter Cassie began the race nine years ago in memory of her mother, who passed away due to cancer.
The 5K race and one mile walk/run begins at 10 a.m. on Old Route 68. There will also be a post-race celebration with awards, basket raffles, 50/50 drawing, door prizes, and lunch.
