There is still time to apply for two rail freight grant programs through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The Bureau of Rail, Freight, Ports, and Waterways has $41 million available through this year’s Rail Transportation Assistance Program and the Rail Freight Assistance Program.
Last year PennDOT distributed $55 million for 30 projects which created or sustained over 300 jobs. Pennsylvania has the most operating railroads of any state in the country with 65.
Eligible organizations seeking funding should visit the PA grants website before 4 p.m. Friday.
