There is still time to apply for two rail freight grant programs through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The Bureau of Rail, Freight, Ports, and Waterways has $41 million available through this year’s Rail Transportation Assistance Program and the Rail Freight Assistance Program.
Since 2023 PennDOT has distributed over $150 million to support the rail freight network. Pennsylvania has the most operating railroads of any state in the country with 65 along with 5,500 miles of freight lines.
Eligible organizations seeking funding should visit the PA grants website before 4 p.m. tomorrow (Friday).
