A significant rain storm hampered sporting events in California over the weekend. The “Clash” Nascar race at the Los Angeles Coliseum was suddenly moved up an entire day from Sunday to Saturday in a decision made Saturday afternoon. Denny Hamlin won the exhibition race which kicked off the Cup Series season.
The Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament was shortened an entire day when the 4th round was canceled Sunday and reigning U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark was declared the winner. He had shot a course-record tying 60 on Saturday. It was Clark’s third PGA Tour win
