The Pittsburgh Penguins were defeated by the New York Rangers 8-4 at Madison Square Garden and the Pittsburgh Pirates were pounded 14-1 by the Cincinnati Reds.
Tristan Jarry returned from an injury for the Penguins last night, but didn’t last the game in net. He was replaced by Casey DeSmith in the second period after allowing four goals on 11 shots. DeSmith stopped 10 of 14 shots. The Pens have now allowed 15 goals in their past two games. The Rangers went 3-for-3 on the power play.
The Rangers host the Pens Thursday at 7pm.
