The National Fuel Gas Distribution Company is planning an increase in rates for next year.
Also known as National Fuel, the organization is proposing an increase of just over 6 percent for homeowners—taking an average bill from $87 per month to $93.
Officials with the company say the rate increase is because “costs associated with the purchase and transmission of natural gas are projected to be higher than current rates.”
The rate increase would go into effect in August if approved by the PUC.
National Fuel serves 214,000 customers in Pennsylvania.
