PennDOT officials say residents are now able to access a REAL ID using additional forms.
One of the requirements is to show proof of your social security number in order to get a REAL ID. Now, PennDOT says people can bring their social security card, a W-2 form, a pay stub with the full number on it, or a 1099 form.
In addition to the social security number, you must also have a proof of identity and two proofs of your current address.
The government has pushed back the deadline on the REAL ID to May 2025. After that time, you’ll be required to have a REAL ID in order to fly domestically or access a federal building.
