Officials with the Salvation Army in Western Pennsylvania say this year’s fundraising effort was able to surpass their goal.
As part of their 2025 Red Kettle campaign, the Salvation Army was able to collect nearly $100,000 more than their $2.4 million target. This represents an increase of over $200,000 compared to last year.
The bulk of donations to this campaign were collected in person from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve at retail and community locations across the region, including Walmart and Giant Eagle as well as online contributions and through The Salvation Army’s text-to-give program.
Officials say the funds will ensure that the organization will be able to continue offering critical services across 28 counties including feeding programs, rent and utility assistance, youth empowerment, and spiritual programs.
