A Congressman who used to represent a portion of Butler County says he’s battling cancer.
Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson of Centre County says he was diagnosed with prostate cancer this month.
Thompson said the cancer was discovered during a routine physical. He adds that he’ll remain in Congress during his treatment and continue working.
The 64-year-old Republican was first elected to Congress in 2008. He serves as the chair of the Agricultural Committee.
