A local lawmaker has been appointed to a leadership position for a committee during the new legislative session.
State Representative Stephanie Scialabba recently announced her appointment as the Republican Secretary of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committee.
This committee studies each bill affecting veterans for first responders that is proposed and then determines which will be advanced to the full House for consideration.
Scialabba has been hosting monthly Veterans Outreach hours at her district office where veterans and their families can receive help obtaining the benefits.
