Today is the final day in office for State Representative Stephenie Scialabba, but when or will a special election be held to fill her seat?
According to Pennsylvania law, the Speaker of the House has 15 days to schedule a special election to fill the seat.
That special election must take place at least 60 days from when the speaker makes that announcement.
At the latest a special election could be held in mid-June. At the earliest, during the primary election on May 19th, a special election can be held.
No official decision has been made on if or when the election will be held.
