Baseball’s Cy Young Awards will be announced tonight. Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates is the favorite to win the National League award.
The Manager’s of the Year were revealed Tuesday:
Cleveland Guardian’s manager Stephen Vogt won his second straight American League Manager of the Year award and Milwaukee’s Pat Murphy repeated for the National League honor.
–Murphy led the Brewers to the best record in baseball this season. He joins former Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox as the only repeat winners in the N.L. Cincinnati’s Terry Francona was the runner-up.
–Toronto manager John Schneider was the A.L. runner-up. Vogt received 17 first-place votes to Schneider’s 10. Vogt led Cleveland to their second straight A.L. Central Division title, despite trailing Detroit by 15 games in early July, and still by 11 games entering September. It was the largest in-season comeback in baseball history.
