As the state budget impasse reaches two months, Governor Josh Shapiro’s office has reportedly made a counter offer.
Multiple sources are reporting that Shapiro has pitched a $49.9 billion budget to the legislature.
That would increase spending by 5 percent compared to last year, however fall short of his initial $51 billion proposal.
Republican leaders in the Senate say the total number is just one aspect of the bill and that individual components still loom large in the negotiating process.
