Many residents in the City of Butler are cleaning up after flooding that occurred Wednesday afternoon.
Heavy rains rolled through the area around 4 p.m. resulting in a significant amount of water in many streets, especially around the Sullivan Run area of the city which regularly experiences flooding.
Other areas around the county also received significant amounts of rain such as McCalmont Road in the Renfrew area which had to be shut down for a time to be cleared.
The City’s Sullivan Run Channel Improvement Project to improve flooding conditions in the west end area is expected to begin construction sometime in the late summer or early fall.
