Following the resignation of a Democratic state lawmaker, the House is once again split evenly among both parties.
Sara Innamorato officially resigned her seat as she campaigns for Allegheny County executive. That leaves the House split 101-101 between Republicans and Democrats.
Her resignation also comes as lawmakers in Harrisburg are at a stalemate when it comes the state budget.
A special election to replace Innamorato is set for mid-September, which is also when the House is expected to return to session.
Republicans say her resignation will have a dramatic impact on budget negotiations.
