Outgoing Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald will be taking a new position next month.
After serving in the top position for 12 years in Allegheny County, Rich Fitzgerald will become the Executive Director for the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission.
It’s a federally designated metropolitan planning organization in charge of guiding government investment for the 10-county region including Butler County.
Fitzgerald will take over the position on January 2, 2024.
