The man who is being charged in the hit-and-run death of a high school student in Butler was in court for the first time yesterday.
Police say 38-year-old Joshua Rivera of Butler hit and killed 15-year-old Aiden Lutz in an accident that happened on Dutchtown Road back in October.
Rivera appeared in front of District Judge Kevin O’Donnell, where witnesses testified Lutz was riding his bike when a car hit him from behind and took off.
Our news partners at WPXI report that the witness said that Rivera’s vehicle “came out of nowhere like a missile” before he hit Lutz.
The judge opted to hold all charges against Rivera, including homicide by vehicle.
