Work is currently underway on the Old Stone House before a transfer of management for the Slippery Rock area facility takes place.
According to SRU, a nearly $40,000 roof replacement is currently underway as part of an agreement that was reached with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources two years ago.
The agreement was that once the roof had been addressed along with several other requirements, management of the facility would be transferred to Jennings Environmental Education Center.
The Old Stone House property and building have been operated by SRU on behalf of the Commonwealth since 1997.
