A recent court ruling upheld the decision by Butler County that did not allow voters to cure mail-in ballots that are missing secrecy envelopes.
The ruling came last Friday following a lawsuit filed earlier this year by the ACLU on behalf of two voters, who attempted to vote provisionally after submitting mail-in ballots without the envelopes.
The ruling said in part that “it is the voter’s burden to ensure they have completed the steps necessary for their mail-in ballot to be included in the tabulation.”
It’s expected that the ruling will be appealed.
