The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Chicago Cubs by a score of 2-1 Friday afternoon.
Starting pitcher Paul Skenes tossed 5 shutout innings while striking out 5 batters.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning to give the Pirates a 2-1 lead. David Bednar then closed the door on the Cubs in the bottom of the inning to earn the save.
The Pirates and Cubs play again today at 2:20 PM. WISR pregame begins at 1:55 PM.
US Open
The Final two days of the US Open will be played today and Sunday at Oakmont Country Club. Coverage on television today is on the USA Network from 10am to Noon – then coverage moves to NBC the remainder of the day.
