The Borough of Saxonburg is taking steps to enhance public safety through an improvement in community policing.
Borough Council recently promoted two part-time officers to full-time status to ensure that residents receive responsive and effective law enforcement services. Their roles will be expanded to include more availability and responsibilities.
The Borough is also establishing a Civil Service Commission to oversee the recruitment, hiring, and promotion of police. This will provide a fair and transparent process for officers seeking to join the department.
Anyone with questions about this commission is encouraged to contact the Saxonburg Borough office.
